Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for the recovery of waste lithium batteries and preparing a ternary precursor, comprising: first pre-treating a waste lithium battery to obtain battery powder and aluminum slag; roasting the battery powder; adding water to the roasted battery powder for pulping; then adding a metal chloride for a leaching reaction; performing solid-liquid separation to obtain nickel cobalt manganese slag and a lithium chloride solution; adding sulfuric acid to the nickel cobalt manganese slag for acid leaching; adding the aluminum slag to an acid leaching solution to remove copper; then adjusting the pH of the acid leaching solution to remove aluminum; and mixing the dealuminized solution with a compound extractant for extraction to obtain a manganese-containing organic phase and a nickel and cobalt-containing raffinate, wherein the organic phase can be obtained from manganese sulfate and the raffinate can be crystallized to obtain a high-purity nickel-cobalt sulfate mixed crystal. After the obtained battery-grade manganese sulfate and nickel-cobalt sulfate mixed crystal is dissolved in water, a certain amount of nickel-cobalt-manganese sulfate is be added to prepare a ternary precursor. The recycling process route provided in the present invention has the advantages of a simple operation, low production costs, and stability and reliability.
