Disclosed is a method for recycling a micro-element and a recycling system therefor, which method relates to the technical field of mass transfer. The method comprises: collecting at least one unsuccessfully transferred micro-element; applying a first acting force in a first direction on the micro-element, and applying a second acting force in a second direction on the micro-element; by means of the combined action of the first acting force and the second acting force, moving the micro-element from an initial position to a target position; and recycling the micro-element located at the target position. In the method for recycling the micro-element and the recycling system therefor, micro-elements such as LED chips (R, G and B) of three colors of red, green and blue mixed in a transfer container (101) are collected, then the micro-elements are horizontally moved in a recycling container (106) by means of the same second acting force, and the time required for the micro-elements to enter a collection substrate (107) differs due to the different masses of the various micro-elements, such that the movement distances of the micro-elements in the horizontal direction are different, thereby separating the micro-elements of different types.
