Abstract:
Disclosed are a method for reducing the uplink time delay of a passive optical network, and a related device. An optical line terminal (OLT) comprises: a basic wavelength channel unit and a corresponding extension wavelength channel unit, wherein the basic wavelength channel unit is used for supporting a basic wavelength channel and realizing the discovery and ranging of an optical network unit (ONU) on the basic wavelength channel, and the basic wavelength channel unit is also used for establishing, with the ONU and on the basic wavelength channel, a first ONU management and control channel (OMCC), and notifying, when the ONU supports an extension wavelength channel and is configured to be in a low time delay mode, the ONU of switching from the basic wavelength channel to an extension wavelength channel through the first OMCC; and the extension wavelength channel unit is used for supporting one or more extension wavelength channels, and establishing, with the ONU and on an extension wavelength channel, a second OMCC for the transmission of a low time delay service.
