Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of highly precisely adjusting the basicity of secondary blowing slag. This method for refining molten iron comprises: setting an intermediate deslagging amount of primary blowing slag to a target variable in advance when using a converter container to refine molten iron; performing a multiple-regression analysis in which information that includes at least one of the basicity of the primary blowing slag and the initial angle of slag discharge, and also includes a primary blowing slag amount, is used as an explanatory variable; charging the molten iron into the converter container and performing primary blowing; subsequently performing intermediate deslagging in which some of the slag after the primary blowing process is discharged to outside of the container, and then using the result of multiple-regression analysis to calculate the intermediate deslagging amount of primary blowing slag and an in-furnace residual amount of the primary blowing slag; and then, when adding lime-based flux to the slag and post-primary-blowing molten iron that remained in the container and performing secondary blowing, using the in-furnace residual amount of the primary blowing slag and a computed composition of the primary blowing slag to calculate the amount of lime-based flux to add in the secondary blowing process without extending a steelmaking time.
