Abstract:
Provided in the present invention is a method for refining non-petroleum-based ethylene glycol, wherein impurities having a boiling point close to that of ethylene glycol are separated. In the described method, C5-C20 lipophilic alcohol compounds, C5-C20 alkanes and/or C4-C20 lipophilic ketone compounds are used as entrainers to perform azeotropy with non-petroleum-based ethylene glycol to obtain an azeotrope containing ethylene glycol; then, the entrainers in the azeotrope are separated and removed to obtain a crude product of ethylene glycol, and the crude product of ethylene glycol is further purified to obtain ethylene glycol.
