Abstract:
A method for regenerating amorphous iron oxyhydroxide comprises the following steps: 1) grinding spent materials of amorphous iron oxyhydroxide into powder; 2) preparing a suspension of the powder, then introducing gases containing oxygen therein to oxidize ironic sulfides in the suspension into amorphous iron oxyhydroxide and sulfur, thus forming a slurry containing amorphous iron oxyhydroxide and sulfur; 3) subjecting the slurry or the solid materials obtained by filtering the slurry to floatation so as to separate amorphous iron oxyhydroxide from sulfur; or alternatively, subjecting the solid materials obtained by filtering the slurry to solvent extraction so as to separate amorphous iron oxyhydroxide from sulfur. The regeneration method is also applicable for regenerating the desulfurizer with amorphous iron oxyhydroxide as its active component. The method can make efficient use of the desulfurizer resources and without polluting the environment.
