Abstract:

A method of regenerating a hydrogenation catalyst without the use of any alkane; and a diolefin purification plant for use in this method, furnished with equipment simpler than in the prior art. There is provided a first method comprising the contact step of bringing a composition for regeneration containing 50 mass% or more of C₄-C₈ olefin into contact with a hydrogenation catalyst. This hydrogenation catalyst can be one used in hydrogenation of acetylenic compounds contained in a raw composition containing at least one C₄-C₈ diolefin. Further, there is provided a second method comprising the contact step of bringing a raffinate, the raffinate resulting from separation of any diolefins from a raw composition containing at least one C₄-C₈ diolefin, into contact with a hydrogenation catalyst. This hydrogenation catalyst can be one used in hydrogenation of acetylenic compounds contained in the raw composition. Moreover, there is provided a plant comprising hydrogenation catalyst regeneration facilities (1) for carrying out this regenerating method.
