Abstract:
Provided are a method for reinforcing a connection part and a reinforcing structure enabling reinforcement of the connection part of optical fiber cores to each other with sufficient strength.
A method of reinforcing a fusion connected part (S) where optical fiber cores (12) extended from the sheathes (16) of a pair of optical fiber cables (11) are connected to each other, wherein a reinforcing member (131) is provided along the fusion connected part (S) so that both ends of the reinforcement member overlap with the sheaths (16) of the optical fiber cables (11), the periphery of the fusion connected part (S) provided with the reinforcement member (131) is covered with an adhesive tube (134) so that both ends of the adhesive tube (134) overlap with the sheaths (16) of the optical fiber cables (11), the adhesive tube is made to contract, the periphery of the adhesive tube (134) is covered with a protective tube (135) so that both ends of the protective tube overlap with the sheaths (16) of the optical fiber cables (11) and the adhesive tube (134) projects outward in the length direction, and the protective tube is made to contract.
