Description:
METHOD FOR REMINDING VEHICLE PARKING LOCATION IN HIGH CAPACITY

PARKING LOTS

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to a parking lot arrangement method which provides easily remembering of the cell where the user parks his/her vehicle by the user thanks to the parking lot continents, parking areas and parking cells separated from each other by means of visual memory-based storification method in high capacity parking lots existing in crowded places like shopping centers, residences, work centers, etc.

PRIOR ART

In high capacity parking lots, users frequently face problems in remembering and finding the location where they park their vehicles. Particularly for users who spend time in shopping centers, remembering the location where said users parked their vehicles in the shopping center is substantially difficult. This leads to time and energy loss for users.

In buildings and shopping centers with high capacity parking lots, most of the users are firstly faced with the parking lot section of the building. In most of the present buildings, the pedestrian inlets have visually rich and prestigious designs; however, there is no required equipment in the parking lots where the visitors enter with their vehicles (although these locations are meeting locations). Said equipment is defined as the arrangement of the goods, orientations, walls, furnishings, columns, doors, windows, illuminations, ventilation elements, which are the design items in the location, according to the movements and requirements of persons. These arrangements shall be designed according to the function and according to the message given to the location in the direction of a specific object. Thanks to said design, as soon as the user enters to the location, he/she is involved to the perception process. This perception process continues from the enterance of the user to the location until the exit of the user therefrom.

In the known art; in parking lots, a systematic tagging (arrangement) method is used which is formed by letters and/or colors and/or numbers for separating and defining and remembering of the areas where the vehicles are parked. In said method; parking lot areas and parking cells are separated into systematic sections and sub-sections by means of letters, numbers and color codes. For example,“Blue A 2”,“Blue A 3”,“Blue B 2”. However, particularly in high capacity parking lots, the likelihood of confusion of number and letter codes with each other substantially increases. Such classifications do not form any context (relations web) which facilitates remembering of the user. In said method, the similarity principle in the perceptual organization principle leads to confusion problem with the other parking areas for the user because of the complex plan schemas of parking areas and repetitive similarity of the images.

In the present art; in order to eliminate the disadvantages of the above mentioned method; there are applications which present reminding cards or reminding tickets to the user as the solution. The solutions aimed in the patent documents with publication number US4881758 and with title“Parked vehicle locating aid” and with publication number US20050228583 and with title“Parked vehicle re-location and advertising/promotion/coupon distribution device” can be shown as example to these applications. Said applications and similar applications aim to provide a solution to the problem of confusion of the classification made by means of letter, color and number combination.

In the known art; there are applications which provide interrogation of the parking area, where the vehicle exists, with the help of info-kiosk stands or mobile systems. However, as also mentioned above, this method is disadvantageous in terms of finding direction, because of the complex plan schemas of the parking areas and because of the repetitive similarity of the images. Moreover, when the number of core (the circulation area comprising the lifts and moving staircase) which is lowered to the parking lot floor is more than one; the similarity of the points used as reference makes finding direction difficult. The methods in the present art do not provide easiness for the user since said methods do not use methods for processing cognitive material like examination, selection, simplification, seperation, combination, completion, comparison, abstraction, easily comprehension of the basic one of the human brain.

In the known art; there is the utility model document with number TR2013/09192 and with title“Location finding balloon in open parking lots”. However, by means of said method, the vehicle finding subject has not been solved and it has been aimed to detect the empty parking locations. Moreover, in the baloon method, only usage in open parking lots has been foreseen in terms of the visibility of the balloon from long distance.

In the present art; in the document related to the patent application with number TR 2018/12544 and with title“Vehicle location finding system”, there is said software -based system and similar systems. However, dependency on the software-based and mobile systems dampens the usage of the human brain and memory. Within this context; in cases where access to the software or mobile-based systems is interrupted, the users using said systems face great difficulty in finding their vehicles in parking lots.

In the patent document with publication number US9293061 and with title“Method For Creating A Mnemonic Experience” and provided in the present art, a method is disclosed which aims to provide reminding by means of images, sounds, etc. presented by means of screens positioned to various locations in a building. However, this method does not present a solution for parking lots and is dependent upon software-based and digital media.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a method which has been developed particularly for high capacity parking lots provided in crowded locations like shopping centers, residences, work centers, etc. and which provides classification of parking lot vehicle parking areas by means of storification method which facilitates efficient usage of human brain and memory in an independent manner from the software-based, digital and mobile systems and which provides easily remembering of the locations, where the vehicles are parked, by the users.

The subject matter method is based on forming regions inside the parking lot floors (particularly in the vicinity of cores) in order for the human brain to form a cognitive map related to senses and imaging these regions by means of at least three-stepped meaning hierarchy (visual or aural storification). Here, the cores have been defined as the vicinity of the lifts, inlets, outlets, stairs, etc. Said stepped meaning hierarchy provides the user to find direction and route in the parking lot as from the instant of usage of the lift or stairs which is lowered to the parking lot floor.

A parking lot arranged by means of the subject matter method has been separated to continents. As an example, each continent has one core, three islands and 54 parking cells in each island. Said island and parking cell numbers can be formed in different manners. Each continent in parking lot has been separated from each other by means of the most comprehensive concept inside the meaning hierarchy. The islands in the continents have been separated from each other by means of stories related to the concept. The parking cells in the islands have been separated from each other by means of images covered by the story. Thus, the user easily remembers the related reminding context inside the concept, story and image hierarchy, and thanks to this, the user can find the parking cell where he/she parked his/her vehicle.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The subject matter method is based on the principle of forming regions inside the parking lot area and/or floors and classifying these regions by means of at least three stepped meaning hierarchy (visual or aural storification). Said at least three stepped storification is formed by means of concept, story and image hierarchy.

In the method which provides reminding of the vehicle parking location in parking lots, the concept describes the general concepts. Sea concept, forest concept, space concept, underwater concept, historical inventions concept, food-beverage concept, etc. can be shown as example. The concepts define the continents in the parking lot regioning.

In the method which provides reminding of the vehicle parking location in parking lots, the story describes the themes related to the concept inside the concept. Under the sea concept, seashore story, shore city story, sea creature story, sea vehicles story, etc. can be shown as example. As another example, under the forest concept, tree story, forest creature story, forest fruit story, etc. can be shown. Under the food-beverage concept, dessert story, Turkish food story, fastfood story, pastry story, fruit juice story, etc. can be presented as example. The stories define the islands in the parking lot regioning.

In the method which provides reminding of the vehicle parking location in parking lots, the image describes the images like objects, events, persons, locations, etc. related to the story in the story. The images in the story correspond to the parking cells in the parking lot regioning. Parking cells are the parts where the vehicles are parked. As example to the images in the story, in the dessert story, semolina doughnut in syrup, baklawa, rice pudding, tiramisu, tres leches etc. can be shown. As another example, in the sea creature story, fish, octopus, mussel, oyster, shrimp, crab, whale, dolphin, starfish, etc. can be shown.

An application example of the present invention can be shown as follows:

PARKING LOT

Parking lot 1 : SEA CONCEPT Island 1 : SEA CREATURE STORY

Parking cell 1 -1 : Octopus (image)

Parking cell 1 -2: Starfish (image)

Parking cell 1 -3: Mussel (image)

Island 2: SEASHORE STORY

Parking cell 2-1 : Beach bag (image)

Parking cell 2-2: Bikini (image)

Parking cell 2-3: Sunbed (image)

Island 3: SEASHORE LOCATIONS STORY

Parking cell 3-1 : Bodrum (image)

Parking cell 3-2: Fethiye (image)

Parking cell 3-3: Ka§ (image)

Each continent has concept at the most comprehensive layer in the meaning hierarchy, and each of the islands formed by the continents has story related to the concept, and each parking cell has image covered by the story.

A user, which enters to the parking lot with his/her vehicle, begins to be stimulated by means of designs which are compliant to the meaning hierarchy visually and begins to be guided as these warnings start the cognitive process. The stimulator elements (story visuals, image visuals, etc.) have been designed within the predetermined concept and have been placed to their locations in the parking lot. First floor (continent 1 ) Sea Concept can be given as example. The whole of the 1 st continent at the first floor has been designed in an integral manner in a manner providing perceiving the sea concept. The islands and parking cells which form the regions under the parking lot continents have been grouped respectively by means of stories and images within this meaningful integrity.

The structural hierarchy formed in the parking lot within the scope of the present invention is particularly defined as continents existing around the cores, islands forming the parts inside the continents and parking cells inside the islands.

Concepts are applied to a part of whole of the related continent (floor, ceiling, walls, columns, etc.), in visual form by means of digital or print or paint like color, figure, monitor, reflection, coating, etc. Thus, when the user enters to a continent in the parking lot, he/she easily perceives the concept and is involved to the reminding cognitive process in the parking lot.

The stories are applied to a part of whole of the related island (floor, ceiling, walls, columns, etc.) in visual form by means of digital or print or paint like color, figure, monitor, reflection, coating, etc. in a manner forming integrity with the concept. The story which is in integrity with the concept provides the user to form the reminding context inside the parking lot in the cognitive process.

The images are applied to a part of whole of the related parking cell visually in a manner compliant to the concept and story ingredient. When the user remembers the image in the concept and in the story, he/she can remember the cell where he/she parked his/her vehicle.

For example, the user who perceives that he/she is in the“sea concept” continent by means of visuals applied to whole or a part of the continent where he/she exists, remembers that the location where he/she parked his/her vehicle in the parking cell with“octopus” image in the island where the“sea creature story” exists by means of joining the pieces which complete the story. As a similar example, in case the user has parked his/her vehicle in the parking cell with“bikini” image in the“seashore story” in the“sea concept” continent, he/she will easily remember the location of his/her vehicle thanks to the meaningful whole formed by the story parts.

Thanks to said invention, particularly the parking cells in the shopping center parking lots are transformed into areas which can be commercialized. In the light of the abovementioned examplification, the parking cell with“bikini” image in the“seashore story” island in the“sea concept” continent can be commercialized to the companies producing sea clothes, swimsuit, etc. and the parking cell with“beach bag” image can be commercialized to the companies producing shoe-bag and the parking cell with “suncream” image can be commercialized to cosmetic companies at a corresponding advertisement fee.

In the parking lot system mentioned in the present invention; the concept, story and images can be changed, renewed and re-designed dynamically in a manner not deteriorating the whole.

The present invention is a parking lot arrangement method which provides reminding to the user the location where the user parked his/her vehicle, the following steps are provided: - Separating the parking lot area into structural hierarchical regions with at least three stages, namely parking cells defining the sections where the users park their vehicles, islands formed by said parking cells, and continents formed by islands;

- Applying the concept visuals, comprising general concepts, to a part or whole of the uppermost stage regions, defined as continents, such that the user can recognize when the user arrives at the related region;

- Applying the story visuals, related to the concept, to a part or whole of the intermediate stages, existing under the continents, defined as islands, such that the user can recognize when the user arrives at the related lower region;

- Applying image visuals, which are compliant to the concept and story ingredient, to a part or whole of the lowermost stages defined as parking cells.

Said method is characterized in that each continent is formed in the vicinity of the stairs or the lift core.
