Abstract:
An aqueous solution of alkali metal hydroxide is heated until the mixture of water steam and molten hydroxide is formed by the indirect heat exchange thereof with a heated substance flow. Said hydroxide is supplied to the surface of a cowl which is arranged in said flow. The molten hydroxide flows around the cowl surface and evaporates, the vapours thereof enter the flow. A branch pipe for supplying the solution is connected to pipes which are arranged in such a way that they are flowed around by the flow. Each pipe is provided with inserts which reduce a flow section. The cowl is provided with longitudinal ribs, each pipe being connected to the rib surface by the output end thereof.
