Abstract:
In a method for producing a dedimethoxybenzylation compound that removes a dimethoxybenzyl group, in the presence of an acid, from a compound, in which the dimethoxybenzyl group is bonded to a nitrogen atom, a dedimethoxybenzylation compound is obtained by removing a dimethoxybenzyl group without producing a poorly soluble product from the removed dimethoxybenzyl group.
The dedimethoxybenzylation reaction is carried out in the presence of triphenylphosphine or diethyl thiourea.
