Abstract:
The present invention belongs to the technical field of processing waste lithium batteries, and disclosed is a method for removing fluorine from waste lithium batteries. The method comprises the following steps: adding an oxidizing agent and a first acid to waste lithium battery powder to perform oxidation and acid leaching as well as solid-liquid separation to obtain a fluorine-containing purification liquid; adding aluminum hydroxide to the fluorine-containing purification liquid to perform a precipitation reaction, adding an acid to adjust the pH, and performing solid-liquid separation to obtain a defluorinated liquid and sodium hexafluoroaluminate; adding aluminum hydroxide to the defluorinated liquid to perform a secondary precipitation reaction, adding an acid to adjust the pH, performing solid-liquid separation, collecting the liquid phase for extraction and obtaining a nickel cobalt manganese sulfate solution. In the present invention, after oxidation and leaching of waste lithium batteries by using an acid, aluminum hydroxide is then used for performing a fluorine removal process twice. In the primary fluorine removal process, by controlling the addition amount of aluminum hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide is completely converted into sodium hexafluoroaluminate, and the purity reaches 98%; and then, a secondary fluorine removal process is carried out, fluorine can be removed to below 15 mg/L or less, and the recovery rate of fluorine reaches 99%.
