Abstract:
As an adsorption method with which it is possible to adsorb and remove, efficiently and over a long period of time, ionic mercury and/or organic mercury included in a hydrocarbon oil, the present invention provides a method for adsorbing and removing ionic mercury and/or organic mercury in a hydrocarbon oil by bringing the same into contact with an adsorbent that includes a layered silicate mineral having an interlayer charge of 0 or greater than 0 to less than or equal to 0.6.
