Abstract:
An even layer, which is free from air bubbles in a photochromic coating layer and
film thickness unevenness in the coating layer, can be formed. In a coating unit
comprising a vessel, a check valve connected to the vessel for preventing back
flow of the coating liquid, and a delivery nozzle optionally connected to the
check valve, air contained in the coating liquid stored in the vessel, air present
within the check valve, and optionally air present in the delivery nozzle can
be removed by clogging the outlet of the coating liquid present on the downstream
of the check valve, allowing the coating unit to rotate around the axis of the vessel
and, at the same time, allowing the coating unit to revolve around the revolution
axis.
