Title:
METHOD OF REMOVING TOP PART OF CAST-IN-PLACE CONCRETE PILE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1981/002757
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Method of removing an upper concrete part from the top of a cast-in-place concrete pile. Before forming the upper concrete part, sealed pipes are put around each steel reinforcing rod (11) of the reinforcing cage (10) extending vertically upwards, sealed so they will not float up from buoyancy as liquid concrete is poured in, and so liquid concrete can not flow inside them. A substantially flat circular metal pipe (18) for breaking the concrete is fastened to the reinforcing cage (10) and embedded in the concrete in the region between the upper part (90) and the lower part (91) which is not to be removed. After casting is complete and the concrete has hardened, fluid is supplied with increasing pressure to the inside of destructive pipe (18) to break off the region. The upper part may then be lifted and removed.
