Provided are a method for reporting a radio frequency capability, a terminal device and a network device. The method comprises: a terminal device dividing multiple frequency bands into at least one frequency band group according to capability information of the multiple frequency bands supported by the terminal device, wherein the frequency bands in each of the at least one frequency band group have at least partially identical capability information; the terminal device determining radio frequency capability information of the terminal device according to the capability information of the at least one frequency band group; and the terminal device sending the radio frequency capability information to the network device. In the embodiments of the present invention, for the capability information of multiple frequency bands that can be supported by the terminal device, the terminal device can extract identical capability information from the capability information of the multiple frequency bands and report same in groups, thereby reducing the signaling overhead.
