Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to elucidate a regulation molecule or a target molecule for an IL-6 amplifier, and provide a method for screening for a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for diseased or disease conditions of which the onset and/or worsening is induced through the activation of an IL-6 amplifier.
A specific gene which can potentially regulate the onset or worsening of diseases or disease conditions in human through the activation of an IL-6 amplifier is identified, and it is found that the gene or a product of the gene can become a target for the prevention or treatment of diseases or disease conditions associated with the activation of an IL-6 amplifier including autoimmune diseases. This finding leads to the accomplishment of the screening method of the present invention.
