Abstract:
A method for segmenting a computing task, and a related apparatus, which method and apparatus can be applied to extended reality (XR) services or other low-latency services. The method comprises: acquiring the amount of transmitted data of a terminal device and a computing amount of same, wherein the amount of transmitted data and the computing amount correspond to a first computing task, and the first computing task is obtained by segmenting a computing task of a neural network model on the basis of a segmentation point; on the basis of the amount of transmitted data, the computing amount, and a channel state between the terminal device and a wireless access network device, determining the segmentation point to be a target segmentation point; and sending indication information to the terminal device, wherein the indication information is used for indicating the target segmentation point. The method can be executed by means of a network device, such as a wireless access network device. Since the network device can acquire, in real time, a channel state between a terminal device and the wireless access network device, a target segmentation point can be effectively adjusted in a timely manner according to a change in the channel state, such that a computing task can be rationally segmented, thereby meeting different requirements and improving the user experience.
