The application relates to the field of a telecommunications technology, and in particular, to a method of selecting a transmission point (TP) participating in a coordinated multipoint (CoMP) transmission and a device utilizing the same, resolving problems of increased user measurement feedback traffic and decreased CoMP transmission performance. The embodiment according to the application provides the method of selecting a transmission point participating in a CoMP transmission, comprising: transmitting, by network equipment, to user equipment (UE) in coverage, measurement information; receiving a first TP set measured based on the measurement information, fed back from each of the UE, and used in the CoMP transmission; and determining, according to the first TP set fed back from each of the UE, a second TP set participating the CoMP transmission for each of the UE.
