Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for selectively fixing POPs contained in a liquid medium or adhered on a solid substance and removing the POPs with high efficiency using a cyclodextrin polymer.
The present invention relates to a method comprising washing a liquid medium containing persistent organic pollutants or a solid substance having persistent organic pollutants adhered thereon with a low-polar organic solvent, and then bringing a cyclodextrin polymer into contact with the low-polar organic solvent that is used in the aforementioned washing procedure to thererby fix the persistent organic pollutants onto the cyclodextrin polymer selectively, wherein the cyclodextrin polymer is produced by condensing cyclodextrin with an organic dibasic acid or a halogenated organic dibasic acid and may have an alkyl group or an aryl group at a terminal thereof.
