Provided are a method for sending system information, a receiving method and an apparatus, which are used for solving the problem in the related art that the amount of time-domain and/or frequency-domain resources occupied when broadcasting other system information is large. The method for sending system information comprises: sending, by means of first system information, information related to wave beam scanning corresponding to second system information; and sending the second system information over a specified wave beam according to the information related to wave beam scanning. The solution significantly improves the resource usage rate when sending the other system information.
