Title:
METHOD AND SENSOR FOR DETECTING POUCH INTERNAL PRESSURE, AND POUCH AND ALARM APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/039496
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
When ballooning or crushing occurs in a pouch of a stoma prosthesis, the internal pressure of the pouch increases, and excrement intrudes into a space between a surface plate and the skin. This becomes the major cause of occurrence of leakage. Therefore, an apparatus that detects an increase in the internal pressure of a pouch and issues an alarm, is desired. The present invention addresses the problem of developing a sensor for measuring the internal pressure of a pouch. The sensor comprises: a small chamber 3 having an opening part 4; a semiconductor pressure sensor 9 for converting the air pressure in the small chamber to an electric signal; and a coupling means 15 for coupling the opening part to the pouch. By use of the sensor, a small hole 2 is formed in a pouch 1, and the opening part is attached to the surrounding area of the small hole by means of the coupling means. The air pressure in the small chamber connected to the inside of the pouch is measured by the semiconductor pressure sensor. Thus, the internal pressure of the pouch is measured.
