Title:
METHOD FOR SEPARATING FINE PARTICLES IN SOIL USING CATIONIC MAGNETIC NANOPARTICLES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/060171
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a method for separating fine particles in soil by using cationic magnetic nanoparticles, and more specifically, to a method for using cationic magnetic nanoparticles to separate fine particles (clay, silt, etc.) that have adsorbed contaminants such as heavy metals or radionuclides in soil. According to the present invention, contaminants, such as heavy metals, radionuclides, etc. selectively or irreversible adsorbed on fine particles (clay, silt, etc.) in soil can be economically and efficiently separated. As a result, this method can be efficiently used to restore soil not only in facility sites contaminated with heavy metals or radionuclides, but also residential areas extensively contaminated with radionuclides in serious accidents such as the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident.
