Abstract:

A method of separating HbA2 whereby HbA2 can be separated at a higher accuracy within a shorter period of time than in the conventional method. Namely, a method of separating hemoglobin A2 from a hemoglobin mixture by cation exchange liquid chromatography, characterized in that at least two eluting solutions involving an eluting solution (hereinafter referred to as the 'eluting solution A') for eluting hemoglobins which are eluted before the elution of hemoglobin A0 and another eluting solution (hereinafter referred to as the 'eluting solution B') for eluting hemoglobins which are eluted after the elution of hemoglobin A0 are employed and the eluting solution A has a pH value of 4.0 to 6.0 while the eluting solution B has a pH value higher by at least 0.5 than the pH value of the eluting solution A.
