Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for separating micro-oil droplets, comprising the steps of: supplying an emulsified solution to an inlet of a microchannel device having an ion-selective membrane so that the solution can pass from the inlet to a first outlet or a second outlet; forming an ion depletion zone by applying an electric field to the microchannel device to generate an ion concentration polarization (ICP) phenomenon in a portion adjacent to the junction between the first outlet and the second outlet; and separating the emulsified solution into fresh water and oil droplets on the basis of the ion depletion zone, wherein the fresh water flows out through the first outlet, and the oil droplets are pushed out by an electric repulsive force at the interface of the ion depletion zone and flow out through the second outlet.
