Title:
METHOD OF SEPARATING MICROORGANISM OR CELLS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2006/059655
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
It is intended to provide a method of efficiently separating a microorganism or cells from a sample containing the microorganism or the cells; and a method of extracting a nucleic acid from the microorganism or the cells having been separated by using the above method. These objects are achieved by preparing a liquid containing a sample containing a microorganism or cells, ion exchanger particles and magnetic particles which are surface-coated with a hydrogel comprising a calcium phosphate-based compound, and separating a complex, which comprises the microorganism or the cells, the ion exchanger particles and the magnetic particles, from the liquid due to the action of the magnet to thereby separate the microorganism or the cells contained in the sample.
