Abstract:
Provided are a method for separating minor actinides and an apparatus for separating minor actinides, which are capable of improving the recovery rate of minor actinides (MA), while maintaining the acid concentration of a diluted acidic aqueous solution to be supplied to an organic solvent constant when the MA are recovered from the organic phase of the organic solvent to which the MA have migrated. This method for separating minor actinides comprises: a solvent extraction step wherein an organic solvent, into which a complexing agent has been solved, is added into a solution containing a used fuel component, thereby causing the MA to migrate to the organic phase; a precipitation step wherein the organic solvent, to the organic phase of which the MA have migrated, is cooled at a predetermined temperature, thereby causing the MA and the complexing agent to precipitate; and a recovery step wherein a diluted acidic aqueous solution is supplied to the MA and the complexing agent after precipitation, thereby selectively separating and recovering the MA.
