Abstract:
Provided is a separation and purification method for separating and purifying extracellular vesicles. A method for separating and purifying extracellular vesicles from a solution containing extracellular vesicles and unnecessary substances, wherein: the separation and purification method is an adsorbent treatment method in which an adsorbent is brought into contact with the solution containing extracellular vesicles and unnecessary substances, as a result of which the adsorbent adsorbs and retains the unnecessary substances, excluding the extracellular vesicles; and the adsorbent is a porous granular material having positively charged pore interiors, the adsorbent being capable of adsorbing and retaining negatively charged unnecessary substances, excluding the extracellular vesicles, in the pore interiors.
