Abstract:
A method of effectively separating and recovering an organogermanium compound from a liquid mixture containing the same and a sugar by treating the mixture through electrification in a compartment wherein the anode side and the cathode side are partitioned by,respectively, an anion-exchange membrane and a cation-exchange membrane. This method is particularly effective in separating and recovering an organogermanium compound contained in a reaction mixture resulting from the isomerization of an aldose to a ketose conducted in the presence of this compound.
