Abstract:
A method for separating nickel and cobalt from a solution, comprising the following steps: after acid leaching the cathode material of a waste lithium ion battery, obtaining a solution containing nickel and cobalt; adjusting the pH value of the solution containing nickel and cobalt to 3.5-4.5; adding an extraction agent for extraction such that the nickel and cobalt are separated, the extraction agent containing an acidic extraction agent P507 and an alkaline extraction agent N235. The method for separating nickel and cobalt by means of extraction employs a non-saponification extraction method, and does not use NaOH as a saponification agent, thereby preventing the discharge of saponification wastewater. The separation of nickel and cobalt is achieved by the synergistic action of the acidic extraction agent P507 and the alkaline extraction agent N235 under acidic conditions.
