Abstract:
A method, server side and system for computing a bandwidth of network transmission of streaming media based on UDP. The method comprises: dividing video frame data to be transmitted into multiple video subframe data packets, and transmitting to a client side the video subframe data packets having predetermined serial numbers; receiving a response message transmitted from the client side, the response message comprising first serial numbers and second serial numbers; transmitting to the client side the video subframe data packets corresponding to the first serial numbers, and determining whether the client side has received all of the video subframe data packets of the video frame data; and if so, accurately computing, according to a transmission start time of the first video subframe data packet of the video frame data, a transmission end time of the last video subframe data packet of the video frame data and a size of the video frame data, a current actual network bandwidth value, thus providing a basis for bit rate adaptation of encoding.
