Abstract:
A method for the service forwarding between the gateways in the serving network, comprises: after the serving network receives the access request message, it determines whether to process the access request message by itself; if the serving gateway determines to process by itself, the serving gateway processes the access request itself, and ends the flow; otherwise the serving gateway forwards the access request message to another object gateway. A serving gateway is provided by the present invention for implementing the service forwarding between the gateways. By enabling to intercommunicate the resource using state between each corresponding gateway in the WiMAX access serving network, and using the timely serving forwarding to adjust duly the load of each corresponding gateway, the present invention balances the load well to ensure the system to normally work and improve the system efficiency.
