Disclosed in the present invention is a method for setting approval roles according to department levels on workflow approval nodes. The method comprises: creating departments and roles in a system organization structure; setting a hierarchical relationship between the departments, and setting department supervisor roles of each department; when the departmental level is n=0, allowing a submission role to serve as an approval role; when n=1, allowing a department supervisor role in a department to which the submission role belongs to serve as an approval role; when n=2, allowing a department supervisor role in a superior department of the department to which the submission role belongs to serve as an approval role; and by analog, when the departmental level is set to exceed the highest level, allowing a department head role in a top level department to serve as the approval role. In the present invention, by setting approval roles accordingly department levels, a workflow setting person simply needs to enter a departmental level when setting an approval role, and multiple approval processes can be effectively integrated together, which can effectively reduce the circulation conditions and circulation lines, thereby reducing the workload of the system workflow setting person, and improving the system reliability.
