Abstract:
Disclosed in the embodiments of the present invention are a method for standalone weak coverage, and a terminal device and a storage medium, which are used for quickly barring a problem cell or a weak coverage cell, thereby reducing a poor experience caused by a network problem, and ensuring that a user can quickly register with a better cell so as to perform normal work. The method of the embodiments of the present invention is applied to the terminal device. The method comprises: where a first timer does not expire, if it is detected that N low-layer failures appear in an attempt by a terminal device to access a candidate cell, setting the candidate cell to a barred state, and turning on a second timer, wherein N is a positive integer; where the second timer does not expire, keeping the candidate cell in the barred state; and where the second timer expires, switching the candidate cell from the barred state to a non-barred state.
