Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for steering a ship, according to which the steering angle of at least one port side rudder (2) and the steering angle of at least one starboard side rudder (3) is set by means of at least one electronic control unit (6, 7) for executing a manoeuvre. According to the invention, the respective steering angle of at least one rudder (2, 3) is set in accordance with the roll angle of the ship that is determined during the manoeuvre. The invention also discloses a steering assembly for a ship comprising at least one port side rudder (2), at least one starboard side rudder (3) and at least one electronic control unit (6, 7) for setting the respective steering angle of the rudder (2, 3) by means of at least one actuator (4, 5) for executing a manoeuvre. The electronic control unit (6, 7) is coupled to at least one tachometer (9) for determining the speed of the ship and the control signals for executing a manoeuvre are determined by means of a steering wheel (8) of the electronic control unit. According to the invention, at least one angle of inclination sensor (10) is provided for determining the roll angle of the ship.
