Abstract:
The present invention sterilizes a bacteria-elimination filter using heated water vapor and reduces the thermal load applied to the bacteria-elimination filter to the greatest extent possible to lengthen the period of endurance of the bacteria-elimination filter. Heated water vapor is supplied to a bacteria-elimination filter for eliminating bacteria in supplied air, an F value is computed while the temperature of the heated water vapor discharged from the bacteria-elimination filter is measured in each prescribed period, and sterilization of the bacteria-elimination filter is completed when the F value has reached a target value.
