Abstract:
Provided is a method for stopping water at the terminal of a shielded electric wire wherein the occurrence of peeling of a sheath and a water stop portion is prevented at the terminal water stop portion of the shielded electric wire, and a swollen water stop portion is prevented.  The sheath at the terminal of a shielded electric wire is stripped and a core wire and a drain wire are exposed from the terminal and pulled out, a waterproof sheet obtained by soaking a foam rubber sheet with molten water stop agent are wound tightly around the outer circumferences of the shielded electric wire and the exposed core wire and drain wire while the stripping point of the sheath is covered, and then an adhesive tape is wound strongly by half-lapping around the outer circumferential surface of the foam rubber sheet, or a heat shrinkable tube is applied to the sheet and shrank thermally.  In this state, the entirety is held stationarily in the horizontal direction and the gap between the exposed core wire and the drain wire is filled with the water stop agent, which has been soaked into the foam rubber sheet, by the winding force of the adhesive tape, and the water stop agent is made to flow to the inner circumferential surface of the sheath of the shielded electric wire and into the gap between the core wire and the drain wire, while furthermore the water stop agent is made to ooze out to the outer circumferential surface of the sheath and is cured in that state, and then the cured water stop agent is made to adhere continuously to a portion extending from the outer circumferential surfaces of the core wire and the drain wire, that have been pulled out from the terminal of the sheath, to the outer circumferential surface of the sheath.
