Title:
METHOD FOR THE SUPPRESSION OF DISTURBANCES IN SYSTEMS FOR DETECTING OBJECTS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2003107035
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the suppression of disturbances in systems for detecting objects in a target area, whereby a sequence of pulses is transmitted into the target area by at least one transmitter and the reflection signals of the pulses within a plurality of time slots are detected by means of at least one receiver. The time slots are orientated respectively in relation to the time slot of the transmission of the individual pulses, and respectively represent a distance gate, whereby the time distance between the individual pulses is randomly coded according to the pseudo-noise-principle within predefined limits and the time slots are correspondingly adapted. Scanning, digitisation, and optionally, digital pre-processing and subsequently digital filtering of the received reflection signals in the individual distance gates occurs. A non-linear digital filter is used for filtering in order to suppress transient disturbances. Preferably, a median filter is used for non-linear digital filtering, whereby a reflection signal of the median is determined from an uneven number of successive scanning values of a reflection signal detected inside a distance gate. The filter can be embodied in a sliding form.
