Abstract:
Disclosed in the present invention is a method for synthesizing an aryl benzyl ether compound, i.e., synthesizing a corresponding aryl benzyl ether compound by means of an oxidative coupling reaction of a phenolic compound and a toluene compound by taking an iron (III) complex that has a molecular formula of [(tBuNCH=CHNtBu)CH][FeBr4] and contains 1, 3-di-tert-butyl imidazole cations as a catalyst and by taking a di-tert-butyl peroxide as an oxidizing agent. This is a first example, implemented by an iron-based catalyst, of preparing an aryl benzyl ether compound by means of the oxidative coupling reaction of the phenolic compound and the toluene compound, and achieves atom economy, environmental friendliness, and good substrate applicability.
