Abstract:
A method for the automatic documentation of the use of surgical implants comprises the following steps: producing an image of a set of surgical implants provided for surgery, which image can be shown on a screen; producing a graphical user interface from said image by associating command buttons with the shown implants; linking the command buttons with datasets containing information regarding the shown implants, the information also comprising the number of parts of every shown implant in the set of implants; and displaying the graphical user interface on a screen, at least one of the following actions being triggered upon actuation of one of the command buttons: Displaying information regarding the implant associated with the command button; reducing the number of pieces of the implants contained in the set and associated with the command button; recording information on the removal for the purpose of implantation of the implant from the set of implants associated with the command button; and recording information on the removal for the purpose of disposal of the implant from the set of implants associated with the command button.
