Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and system for channel estimation for coherent optical communication. The method comprises: for each frame of data received, a channel transfer function of a current frame is estimated by a receiving end on the basis of a training sequence that the current frame comprises, the estimated channel transfer function is made as an initial estimate of the channel transfer function of the current frame and is saved; a final estimate of the channel transfer function of a preceding frame of the current frame is read, if read, then the final estimate of the channel transfer function of the preceding frame of the current frame and the initial estimate of the channel transfer function of the current frame are weight averaged, and the weight-averaged channel transfer function is made as a final estimate of the channel transfer function of the current frame and is saved.
