Abstract:
A method, system and machine frame management board for obtaining physical information
of a single board. The method includes the steps: a single board reports the field
replaceable unit status transition message to machine frame management board(S401);
the machine frame management board obtains a hardware address of the single board
according to the status transition message(S403,S404); according to the hardware
address, the machine frame management board obtains physical slot number and
slot type corresponding to the hardware address(S405); and the machine frame
management board sends the physical slot number and slot type to the single board(S406).
The system includes the machine frame management board and the single board.
The system can obtain a correct physical slot number and a slot type of the single
board for locating the physical position of the single board.
