Disclosed by the present invention are a method and system for establishing an association between a user and a planting box, the method being applied to the planting box and the planting box being in communication connection with a host in a same local area network, the method comprising the following steps: when receiving an association trigger request from a user, scanning a signal of a wireless network access point in a current environment to obtain a security network list; sending the security network list to a host so that the host determines and returns information of an available wireless network access point; connecting to the available wireless network access point according to the received information of the available wireless network access point, and establishing a communication connection with a server; and sending an association request to the server, so that the server establishes an association between the user and the planting box according to the association request. In this way, the user may quickly establish an association with one or more planting boxes, which increases convenience and may achieve a purpose of batch binding, and supports the requirements for good binding between large batch planting boxes and the user, thereby improving user experience.
