Title:
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR FEEDING AND BURNING A PULVERIZED FUEL IN A GLASS FOUNDRY OVEN AND BURNER TO BE USED THEREWITH
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2002076580
Kind Code:
A8
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and system for feeding and burning a pulverized fuel such as oil coke in a glass foundry oven, which comprises a glass foundry area and a plurality of burners associated with a pair of sealed regenerative chambers placed next to one another, which act as heat exchangers. The burners are arranged in a series of ports associated with the glass foundry area of the oven. The system includes means for feeding the pulverized fuel supplied by each oil burner to melt the raw material in order to produce glass. The combustion gas emissions produced by the combustion process of the fuel in the oven are controlled with the purpose of keeping combustion gases clean and reducing emissions or impurities generated by the fuel such as SOx, NOx and particles. The regenerative chambers are manufactured with refractory materials selected from amongst the group consisting of magnesium, alumina-silica-zirconia or magnesia and zirconia-silicate to counteract the abrasive and erosive effects produced by the combustion process of the fuel in the glass foundry chamber. A burner for supplying oil coke is also provided, said burner including means for simultaneously mixing a primary air and an air-pulverized fuel mixture to burn the pulverized fuel.
