Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and system for providing directions or guidance to a destination using distributed public displays or public speakers, wherein the method includes the steps of: (a) receiving, from a mobile terminal, location estimation signal information used to estimate the location of the mobile terminal; (b) estimating, from the location estimation signal information, a station at which the mobile terminal is located; and (c) transmitting, to one or more public displays/public speakers, guidance information informing whether the public transportation at the station in which the one or more public displays/public speakers are installed is bound for the destination. The present invention has the effect of enabling a public transportation user to be safely and conveniently guided to a desired destination using visual or auditory information.
