Abstract:

The present disclosure provides methods and systems for isolating a leaf switch in a network, the leaf switch being connected to a server in the network. The method can include: in response to receiving a request for isolating the leaf switch in the network, sending, via the leaf switch, a notification to the server, wherein the notification indicates that the server is to stop sending egress traffic to the leaf switch; determining whether an acknowledgement to the notification is received from the server; and in response to the determination that the acknowledgement is received, stopping ingress traffic towards the server.
