Abstract:
A method and system for managing Customer Edge (CE) device, the method mainly
includes: setup the agent relationship between the Customer Edge (CE) and the
Provider Edge (PE), the management terminal of the network side transfers the
management information to the PE as the CE agent through the common network path,
the PE manages the agented CE according to the management information transmitted
from the management terminal. The present invention sufficiently utilizes
the existing network resources, enables the management terminal such as NSM
manages the CE device with safety, efficiency, and conveniency, prevents from
occupying the network device resource or increasing the route configuration
complexity or the safety problem in the network or the different each other among
IP address of the CE devices and so on due to implementing the CE device management;
thus improving the security of the network, perfecting the network side management
mechanism for the CE device, improving the Customer Edge device management effectively,
reducing the management cost of the Customer Edge device.
