Abstract:
Disclosed is a method and system for measuring three-dimensional visibility using a traffic monitoring camera. In the method, a depth map is generated through a first and a second image acquired by a first and a second camera; a contour line is formed according to the depth map; continuity of the contour line is examined; and visible distance information is extracted according to a certain level of continuity thereof or information on a visible distance to an object is calculated. By the method, more accurate visible distance information can be provided to a driver through a display unit, or when the visible distance information falls within a certain distance, a safety display device or the like operates or alarm information can be provided to the driver.
