The invention relates to a method for the automated ordering and performance of printing services and postal services within a mailing service system (10), in which the order data for a postal article (40) to be printed and sent are generated on an order component. The inventive method is characterized in that the order data are generated by a order component, whereby the order data at least consist of an image motif and delivery information. The order data are transmitted to a database (31) via an interface (30) and are transmitted to a processing component (70) in order to process the order data into a print job. The generated print job is transferred to a printing production (50) that creates a postal article (40) therefrom. The postal article (40) is then transferred to a distribution system (90), and the printing service and the postal service are billed by an invoicing component (91). The invention also relates to a system for carrying out the method.
