Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and system for predicting heavy rain. In particular, according to the present invention, the likelihood of heavy rain can be predicted after classifying types of heavy rain using atmospheric structures such as low level jet and thickness classifications, and heavy rain can be swiftly dealt with by presenting the likelihood of heavy rain more precisely. In addition, the present invention has the effect of presenting the likelihood of local heavy rain, and increasing the predicted probabilities of local heavy rain by deriving the likelihood of heavy rain on the basis of a heavy rain model which analyzes the correlations among physiographic features, past precipitation patterns, and the atmospheric structure.
